Are red-state residents more hypocritical?

According to the Census Bureau’s Statistical Abstract, states that went Republican in November accounted for eight of the 10 states with the highest divorce rates in 2006. Conservatives touted abstinence-only education, which was a flop, when real sex education was needed, most desperately in red states. According to 2006 data from the Guttmacher Institute, those red states accounted for eight of the 10 states with the highest teenage birthrates. And, a study titled “Red Light States: Who Buys Online Adult Entertainment?” that was conducted by Benjamin Edelman, an assistant professor of business at Harvard Business School and published earlier this year in the Journal of Economic Perspectives found that subscriptions to online pornography sites were “more prevalent in states where surveys indicate conservative positions on religion, gender roles, and sexuality” and in states where “more people agree that ‘I have old-fashioned values about family and marriage.’ ” Should red-state residents focus more on what happens in their own bedrooms and avoid the trap of judging what goes on in everyone else’s?

  1. You got a problem with it, missy?
  2. Absolutely.
  3. Why don't you worry less about the sexual practices of Republicans and do a little more research on the investments in "green energy" companies that Pelosi, Gore, Waxman, Markey have. Follow the money.
  4. Not only that new report (pdf) released last week by Feeding America claims that one in six young children (those who are five-years-old and younger) in 26 U.S. states face a constant threat of food insecurity. That adds up to 3.5 million young children in this country who do not have adequate access to healthy food. OH LOOK MOSTLY RED STATES! In terms of young children, Louisiana has the highest rate (24.2) of food insecurity in the country followed by North Carolina (24.1), Ohio (23.8), Kentucky (23.3), Texas (23.3), New Mexico (23.3), Kansas (20.9), South Carolina (20.7), Tennessee (20.4), Idaho (20.2), and Arkansas (20). -For all children, TEXAS LEADS THE NATION (22.1) IN RATE OF FOOD INSECURITY followed by Mississippi (21.5), the District of Columbia (21.4), Tennessee (20.5), Arizona (20.2), South Carolina (20.2), Louisiana (20) and Missouri (20). Doing a quick regional analysis , it seems as though New England does the best job of ensuring its children have access to healthy food. All of the states in the region have rates of food insecurity under 20 percent with only Maine and Vermont having rates higher than 15 percent. OH LOOK, ALL BLUE STATES! http://uspoverty.change.org/blog/view/re... one out of every 50 - or approx 1.5 million- American children go to bed without a home of their own. Child homelessness in America OH LOOK AT THE MAP! MOSTLY RED STATES! States with most child homelessness: Nevada, Nuevo Mexico, TEXAS, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Kentucky States with the lowest rates of child homelssness: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island OH LOOK, ALL BLUE STATES!!! http://www.homelesschildrenamerica.org/ More children are HOMELESS and HUNGRY in RED States than anywhere else. What kind of values are those? I don't even want to see how you'd treat your elderly or your sick... Guy below me. New England States are the most atheist of all, you know those states where CHILDREN EAT AND LIVE BETTER. Not only that but the secular nations of western europe have better education, longer lifespans, are richer and healthier than the US. Have lower rates of teen pregnancies and lower rates of abortion despite or better said BECAUSE they aren't entagled in religious crap! Do you realize how stupid YOU sound

  6. I love conservatives. They rock. The red states are red, not because of what they stand for but for what they hate. They dislike the educated, non-whites, non-Christians, non-heterosexuals. The Republicans carry them because they attack groups that ignorant people fear. You know, "evilutionists" and atheists and the French, OH MY! EDIT: Frickin' awesome! Check out Josh. According to him the fact that I'm an atheist makes me a bad person. Love them. I love them conservatives.
